Welcome to the internet pages of the
Kitchen-Band
We are 7 musicians from Göttingen who have been playing together since 2006. We play primarily klezmer music, but our repertoire includes other dance music and folk songs from Europe.
Klezmer was originally the music of travelling Jewish musicians in eastern Europe. This music has become increasingly popular in the last years. The sounds vary from thoughtful, melancholy melodies to Hebrew and Yiddish songs to wild dances.
We also play French waltzes, Hungarian and Finnish songs, even Bluegrass pieces. The particular combination of instruments in the band is unique even for this music.
